Exynos loses to Snapdragon again: Exynos 2200 CPU is only 5% faster than Exynos 2100 CPU

According to TechAltar, in tests, the Samsung Exynos 2200 single-chip system was indeed not much faster than its predecessor.

The octa-core processor included in the Samsung Exynos 2200 is only 5% faster than the Exynos 2100 CPU. This is much less than expected, because new generation flagship SoCs usually provide at least 15-20% improved performance.

A slight improvement in CPU performance could be forgiven if the new platform offered an outstanding performance graphics accelerator. However, measurements show that the Xclipse 920 GPU based on the AMD RDNA2 architecture is only 17% faster than the Exynos 2100 GPU.

Only the neural processor, which is responsible for artificial intelligence applications and image processing, can please. The Exynos 2200 NPU was 115% faster than the corresponding module in the Exynos 2100.

TechAltar believes that Samsung did not just hide the performance figures and even postponed the announcement of the platform. The source notes that Exynos lost again to Snapdragon.
