TTArtisan joins the Micro Four Thirds standard

The Chinese company TTArtisan, which produces interchangeable lenses, has announced that it has joined the Micro Four Thirds standard.

The Micro Four Thirds photo system was introduced by Olympus and Panasonic in 2008. Since then, 57 companies have joined. OM Digital Solutions, which acquired Olympus's photography division just over a year ago, said it "will continue to develop and expand its product line to meet the diverse needs of our customers."

Shenzhen Mingjiang Optical Technology Co., the parent company of TTArtisan, said in a statement that joining the Micro Four Thirds standard will bring "features unique to the standard [that] will undoubtedly elevate imaging enjoyment even further."

While all seven APS-C format TTArtisan lens models are already available in Micro Four Thirds mounts, the partnership may provide these lenses with built-in electronics capable of transmitting lens information such as focal length and current aperture to compatible cameras.
