Samsung today officially unveiled its new flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The novelties, one might say, are the most poorly hidden flagships of this year: all the details appeared on the Web a few weeks before today's announcement. However, only now it is possible to speak about the parameters officially. This news is about Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+.
By and large, this is the same model, since the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 + differ only in physical dimensions, screen sizes, battery capacity and maximum charging power.
The Galaxy S22 has become the most compact flagship of 2022, which will be appreciated by users who are accustomed to small smartphones and appreciate the convenience of one-handed operation. With dimensions of 146 x 70.6 x 7.6 mm and a weight of 168 grams, the smartphone received a 6.1-inch screen. This is a Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a frame rate adjustable from 10Hz to 120Hz. For comparison, the dimensions and weight of the iPhone 13 Pro, which also uses a 6.1-inch screen, are 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.7 mm and 204 grams.
Galaxy S22 + received a similar display, but its diagonal is 6.6 inches. Also a feature of the screen of this model is the maximum brightness - it reaches 1750 cd/sq.m (Galaxy S22 has 1300 cd/sq.m). Dimensions and weight Galaxy S22 + – 157.4 x 75.8 x 7.6 mm and 196 grams.
The Galaxy S22 has a 3,700mAh battery with 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging support. The Galaxy S22+ uses a 4500mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Actually, this is where the differences between the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ end (it's hardly critical that the Galaxy S22+ supports Wi-Fi 6E, while the Galaxy S22 manages Wi-Fi 6).
Smartphones for the Russian market use the 4nm Exynos 2200 platform. There are two memory configurations: 8/128 and 8/256 GB. The operating system is Android 12 with OneUI 4.1 interface. Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ support four generations of Android OS updates. This means that they are guaranteed to receive Android 16.
Samsung calls the Galaxy S22 and S22+ its toughest flagships yet. These are the first models in the Galaxy S series to be made from heavy-duty reinforced aluminium. They are also the first smartphones to feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, which protects both the front and back panels.
