Solar flare geomagnetic storm warning received

On February 2, experts from the US Center for Space Weather Forecasting of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicted the onset of a geomagnetic storm of moderate intensity on Earth. This was reported on the website of the organization.

It is characterized as G2, and has the second level of intensity out of five possible.

According to the NOAA website, solar plasma has been ejected from the sun.

The outbreak was registered on January 29. There was a coronal mass ejection - clouds of solar plasma. Its speed on the way to Earth is estimated at 662 km / s, specified in the message.

Scientists do not rule out that the probability of a geomagnetic storm may persist on February 3, but of lesser intensity.

In the second half of December, three geomagnetic storms were predicted on Earth.
