Users complain that Windows 11 slows down the performance of some solid state drives

In early December, users noticed that in some configurations, Windows 11 significantly degrades the performance of system SSDs. Most of the problem is with NVMe SSDs. Moreover, the same storage devices, when installed on them with Windows 10, show stable high results in tests.
Some complaints related to the fact that in Windows 11 system NVMe SSDs in tests show a lower number of input / output operations per second (IOPS), compared with the same configuration in Windows 10. Other users experienced a significant decrease in read / write speed to the point that the random write speed was almost halved compared to the tests in Windows 10.
On average, the decrease in the performance of NVMe SSD in Windows 11 is 11% to 19% over Windows 10.
Microsoft spokesman Neil Christiansen on Reddit explained that Microsoft is aware of the problem and is trying to find a solution. However, the company has not yet released a patch for this situation, although it was known about it 3 months ago at the stage of pre-release testing of Windows 11.
On October 4, Microsoft released Windows 11. The system has undergone changes in design, security and acquired a number of functions to improve the multitasking mode. After installing the release, users complained that Explorer in Windows 11 consumes too much RAM, and AMD promised to urgently release a patch (eventually it came out) that would fix the problem with slowdowns in games on Windows 11. Also, in the first builds of Windows 11 did not work 106 Brother printer models when connected via USB.
