VK's Number Lesson brought together 2.5 million schoolchildren from 138 countries

2.5 million schoolchildren from 138 countries took part in the all-Russian educational project "The Lesson of the Number" from VK. The project itself is aimed at getting to know the game development industry. Students can explore genres of game projects, different platforms, get acquainted with the development process and professions in the industry. Applications are open until December 12, and training materials will be available throughout the year.

The educational program itself takes into account the age of the participants and offers various areas of study. This year, junior high school students will try on themselves the roles of developers, animators and artists. Students in grades 5-8 will be able to try on the profession of a game designer, marketer and tester. And for the senior classes, we prepared a program for mastering the craft of a producer.

Learning takes place in an interactive form using the Domovyata game simulator developed by the BIT.GAMES studio. The organizers of the project are ANO Tsifrovaya ekonomika in partnership with leading Russian IT companies, with the support of the Ministry of Education of Russia, the Ministry of Digital Economy of Russia. Lesson materials were prepared by the mobile game development studio BIT.GAMES, the educational platform Uchi.ru and the cloud platform VK Cloud Solutions.

In addition to Russian schoolchildren, children from Kazakhstan, Germany, the Republic of Belarus, Austria, Ukraine were most actively involved in the project, Australia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia and Moldova. According to the VK press service, this became possible thanks to the involvement of Russian schools outside the country.

“Our“ Digital Lesson ”is gaining momentum: it involves children from Moscow to Sydney, from Kaliningrad to California. We help them learn more about who they can become in the future - and when the time comes to decide on a career, make an informed choice. This year we are holding a series of large-scale events in which we tell about the gaming industry from different angles: I hope that this will help some of today's schoolchildren find their vocation in games, ”notes Sergey Mardanov, VK University Relations Director.
