Yandex Research opens enrollment for the ML Residency program. The program is aimed at developing the scientific community in Russia. Yandex Research organizes ML Residency in cooperation with Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and the Higher School of Economics.
Yandex Research is Yandex's research center dealing with fundamental problems in the fields of computer science and artificial intelligence, such as computer vision, Natural Language Processing, speech technologies, crowdsourcing, search and recommendations. At the moment, he leads among Russian technology companies in terms of the number of publications at NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR and other leading machine learning conferences.
Participation in ML Residency will allow young researchers to immerse themselves in machine learning, learn to identify scientific problems and offer them decisions, to gain experience in publishing articles at conferences and in world-class magazines.
Together with the researchers Yandex Research, residents will work out research problems in computer vision, speech and dialog systems, processing the natural language, autonomous driving and other areas of machine learning. In addition, they can attend machine learning courses at the data analysis school. Residents will be able to engage in applied and theoretical studies in machine learning, publish at scientific conferences and contribute to the development of high-tech yandex products - from unmanned vehicles and voice assistant before translation and search. MFTI and HSE students can combine participation in ML Residency with writing master or candidate thesis.
To participate in ML Residency you need to have fundamental education and desire to engage in machine learning. In addition, you need:
be well-prepared in mathematics and algorithms;
have programming skills on Python (or C ++) sufficient to conduct experiments;
have a desire to regularly read and analyze scientific publications;
Want to develop as a scientist in the field of modern ML.
