According to Counterpoint analysts, Apple dominated the U.S. smartphone market for the past year, keeping its main competitor from even getting close.
The company completed the fourth quarter with a share of 56%, which is the best result for 2021, although a year earlier, Apple completely occupied 65% of the market.
Last quarter, U.S. smartphone shipments were up 10% year-over-year and a massive 30% quarter-on-quarter, driven by the launch of the iPhone 13 line.
You can also see that Samsung's share ranged from 22% to 34%, and Motorola was even able to take 12% of the market in the fourth quarter, taking, apparently, most of the market that LG previously occupied in the US.
