Leica Q2 Reporter and Leica Q2 Monochrom Reporter cameras announced for sale

Leica has announced the sale of Q2 Reporter and Q2 Monochrom Reporter cameras. From the technical point of view, they do not differ from the basic models Q2 and Q2 Monochrom, and their external design is borrowed from the commemorative model Leica M10-P Reporter, the release of which was timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Oscar Barnack Prize, who at one time suggested using a 35 mm film and developed the first camera of this format.

The metal parts of the housings are painted in a protective green color, the insert material, in the basic models made of leatherette, is Kevlar - a synthetic fiber used, in particular, in body armor. According to the manufacturer, the dense fabric provides a good grip and protection from external influences. The cameras are deliberately given a more modest look compared to the base models, for which the engraving is done in light green, not white, and the Leica signature red dot and engraving on the top panel are absent.

The Leica Q2 Reporter will be on sale next week, priced at $ 5,995. The Q2 Monochrom Reporter is expected to go on sale in March 2022.
