Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro owners can't use fingerprint scanner after screen replacement

A new problem that is associated with Google Pixel 6 smartphones has affected users who are forced to replace their screens. Many users on Reddit and Google support threads are unable to use their Pixel 6's (and 6 Pro's) fingerprint scanner after replacing the display.

At the same time, these smartphones were repaired in officially approved Google service centers: UBreakIFix. Even technicians who should be able to fix the Google Pixel cannot guarantee that the fingerprint scanner will work after the screen is replaced.

The problem occurs when trying to use the Google-provided fingerprint calibration tool. An unknown percentage of users in this situation are unable to install a new fingerprint on their device. Users see a message that reads: "Unable to find unique calibration software for this device."

This is a tool released by Google for owners and repair shops to recalibrate a new component to a refurbished device, but it unfortunately does not work for all users.

Users have been reported to be experiencing this issue for several months now.
