The new Skoda Karoq comes out in Russia: innovations and features of the crossover

Skoda has certified in Russia the updated compact crossover Karoq, which will be available for order in our country in the first quarter of 2022. An updated Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS) appeared in the Rosstandart database, in which the upgraded Karoq was entered. For Russia, crossovers are produced in Nizhny Novgorod at the facilities of the GAZ Group.

The base version received a 1.6-liter 110-horsepower engine, which is paired with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. There is also a turbocharged 1.4 TSI engine (150 hp) in combination with an 8-speed automatic transmission or a robotic 7-speed DSG, which is only available for the all-wheel drive version.

The updated Skoda Karoq will be available in Active, Ambition and Style trim levels. Also for Russia will be offered a special version of the Hockey Edition. The length of the updated crossover is 4390 mm, width - 1831 mm. Front-wheel drive versions have a wheelbase of 2638 mm, while the all-wheel drive version has a wheelbase of 2630 mm. Trunk volume is up to 500 liters or 1609 liters with the seats folded down. In addition, in Russia, the updated Karoq will receive a new Energetic Orange color.

The car will get a larger grille and narrower, full LED matrix headlights with a new layout of LED blocks. Behind will be new lights. The interior of the car is distinguished by improved LED backlighting, as well as new decorative inserts on the front panel and doors. As an option, the front passenger seat can now be electrically adjusted.

The standard version is equipped with a digital instrument panel with an 8-inch display, which has replaced the traditional analog instruments. Starting with the Ambition version, the digital instrument panel is offered with a 10.25-inch screen and five basic display options, as well as the possibility of personalization.

The car will receive up to nine airbags, as well as the Multi-Collision Brake system, which in the event of a collision prevents the subsequent uncontrolled movement of the car. There is also adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistant, park assist.

The source adds that in the near future in Russia will begin accepting applications for a restyled Skoda Karoq. The current version today costs from 1,705,000 rubles.
