Tesla electric cars began to stop en masse right on the roads

The US government has begun investigating massive driver complaints about sudden stops of Tesla electric cars right on the roads. It is reported by the BBC.

It is noted that the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration describes the problem as "phantom braking." In the past nine months, the organization has received 354 complaints. It is planned to test about 416,000 Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles produced in 2021 and 2022.

According to drivers, the problem occurs due to the Autopilot assistance system. The function allows the computer to control some elements of braking and steering while driving, but does not completely replace the driver. Despite the name, Tesla advises drivers to remain vigilant and keep an eye on the movement of the car.

So far, there have been no casualties or deaths as a result of braking incidents. Complaints describe how the vehicle brakes unexpectedly while driving at high speeds and often repeatedly during the same trip. One of the drivers complained that this led to collisions with a car following him.

Earlier, the company of businessman Elon Musk itself disclosed the market value of its cryptocurrency assets in bitcoins.
