Named signs that your smartphone is being monitored

Associate Professor of the Department of Intelligent Information Security Systems at RTU MIREA Evgeny Kashkin said that if you do not follow the security rules when using a smartphone, then criminals can gain access to personal information. This is reported by the Prime agency.

According to Kashkin, you should pay attention to what phone functions downloaded applications request access to. It could be a camera, a microphone, or a photo gallery. In some cases, access to them may be mandatory. But in others, such requirements are absurd, as in the case when they are requested by programs to track a home Internet account. Such applications can steal personal data, the expert emphasized.

Another important factor is the use of geolocation by applications. This is not only about GPS, but also about the use of cellular data and connections to various web resources.

Kashkin emphasized that the smartphone can monitor your movements and send location information without the knowledge of the owner.

Earlier it became known that there are several clear signs of an infected smartphone, such as spikes in Internet data usage or a smartphone's rapid discharge.
