Toyota announced 15 models of electric vehicles at once

According to the latest news, Toyota has announced plans to invest US $ 35 billion in EV development and sell 3.5 million EVs annually by 2030.

During the presentation, the company announced plans to release 15 new electric models at once, including sedans, crossovers, SUVs, minivans, sports cars, pickups and other models.

Toyota said it will have 30 new-energy car models (pure electric, various hybrid and hydrogen models) by 2030. At the same time, by that time, Lexus will be transformed into a purely electric brand.

At the previous Shanghai Motor Show, Toyota demonstrated the e-TNGA platform and unveiled the all-electric bZ4X SUV, which will be used as the basis for future production models of the Toyota bz series.

At the same time, Tatsuro Ueda, chairman and CEO of Toyota Motor China, said there will be a total of 7 models in the pure bZ electric series, 5 of which will be introduced to the Chinese market in the future. In terms of purely electric models, Toyota and Lexus will have 10 electric vehicle models in China by 2025.

Commenting on Toyota's announcement, BYD chief Wang Chuanfu said the company could well hit the target two to three years ahead of schedule. We previously reported that Toyota will launch a new electric model in the Chinese market using BYD technology.

Recall that Toyota was the first in history to demand a paid subscription for the ability to start cars from a key fob.
