Google has released an urgent update for Chrome

Google has released a small but important update for its proprietary Chrome browser. The out-of-the-box update is seen as urgent and, among other things, brings a fix for a zero-day vulnerability exploited by attackers.

The stable version of Chrome 96.0.4664.110 is available for Windows, macOS and Linux. As noted by Google, the vulnerability CVE-2021-4102 in the JavaScript engine Chrome V8 was reported anonymously, and assesses its severity as high.

Also, four more vulnerabilities were fixed, three of which have a high severity rating, and one is "critical".

To check for an update, you need to find the icon "Configuring and managing Google Chrome" in the upper right corner of the screen, and then in the "Help" section go to the section "About Chrome".
