Storage specialist Qnap Systems recently released its flagship dual-socket model, the TDS-h2489FU, which includes only SSDs.

The NAS is based on Intel Xeon Silver 4300 processors (16 or 32 cores). DDR4 ECC memory can be up to 1TB. Storage features twenty-four U.2 PCIe Gen 4 x4 SSD bays (slots 17 to 24 also support SATA 6 Gb/s) and two M.2 SSD slots with PCIe Gen 3 and SATA 6 Gb/s interfaces . Based on the iSCSI protocol, the TDS-h2489FU delivers over 1M IOPS on 4K block random access reads, according to Qnap. The NAS equipment includes two 25GbE (SFP28) ports, four 2.5GbE (RJ45) ports, two PCIe Gen 4 slots (one of which already has a dual-port 25GbE adapter installed), four USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gb / s) ports, and two 1200 W power supply. The storage runs under the QuTS hero operating system. It uses the ZFS file system, which makes it easy to handle and manage large amounts of data.

The company offers several configurations that differ in processors and memory. Configuration TDS-h2489FU-4309Y-64G includes two 16-core Intel Xeon Silver 4309Y processors and 64 GB of DDR4 memory, TDS-h2489FU-4314-256G includes two 32-core Intel Xeon Silver 4314 processors and 256 GB of DDR4 memory, TDS-h2489FU -4314-512G is two Intel Xeon Silver 4314 processors (32 cores) and 512 GB of DDR4 memory, and TDS-h2489FU-4314-1TB is two Intel Xeon Silver 4314 processors and 1 TB of DDR4 memory.
