The network has details about the ASIC from Intel - the Bonanza Mine chip

Edition Tom's Hardware told details about the first ASIC from Intel - Bonanza Mine. The Intel Bonanza chip is made using the 7nm process technology. Its dimensions are 4.14x3.42 mm, the area is 14.16 mm2. There can be up to 4,000 such chips on one 300 mm silicon wafer. In production, the chip is packaged in a 7x7.5 mm BGA package. Next, 75 Bonanza chips are installed on the hash board. Each Intel miner consists of 4 such boards.

According to Intel's presentation, the Bonanza chip has 258 mining blocks with two-threaded processing of the SHA-256 algorithm. The operating frequency of Bonanza chips is in the range of 1.35-1.6 GHz. The operating voltage of the chip is 345-365 mV. The energy efficiency of the chip is, depending on the operating mode, from 54 J/Terahesh to 60 J/Terahesh. In balanced mode, the performance of a single chip is 137 Gigahash per second.

Intel disclosed that the performance of the Bonanza Mine miner with 300 (4x75) Bonanza chips ranges from 34.5 TH/s to 47.7 TH/s. In balanced mode, the device produces about 40 Terahesh / s and consumes 3.6 kW.

Bonanza Mine has a separate system for managing and monitoring the operation of hash boards developed by Intel. Intel Asic also has a separate power management controller, air cooling system and a network adapter for external connection.

Intel already has its first customers at Bonanza Mine. Mining companies Argo Blockchain and GRIID Infrastructure, as well as BLOCK (formerly Jack Dorsey's Square) will receive it for testing.

On January 18, the media reported that Intel is going to release equipment for mining bitcoins. According to them, the company's first chip was named Bonanza Mine. This is an energy efficient ASIC for bitcoin mining.

On February 11, 2022, Intel introduced its first high-performance, low-power chip for cryptocurrency mining.
