Google threatens to strip salaries and then fire the unvaccinated

Against the background of the spread of a new strain of coronavirus, Google again postponed indefinitely the return of all employees to the company's offices, and also introduced additional measures for their safety and will cease to be tolerant towards unvaccinated staff.

Google sent a notification to all of its 150,000 US employees that they were required to upload vaccination status or medical clearance documents to the company's internal system. Employees who did not provide this information or were not vaccinated before January 18 will be sent on "paid administrative leave" for 30 days. After that, if the vaccination conditions are not met further, the company will send them on "unpaid personal leave" for up to six months. They retain all of their benefits for the first 92 days of that vacation. If, after six months, they still have not been vaccinated, then "their work at Google is terminated."

Google insists that "anyone entering the Google building must be fully vaccinated and frequent coronavirus testing is not a viable alternative to vaccination."

A Google spokesman does not deny this policy and vaccination requirements. He explained that this is one of the most important ways to keep employees safe and keep all Google services running smoothly. The company will do everything it can to help employees who have been vaccinated, he said.

In early December, Google promised to pay compensation to its employees around the world in the amount of $ 1600 or the equivalent. The bonus to support workers during the coronavirus pandemic will also go to trainees.

On December 10, Google executives refused to raise employee salaries to offset inflation. According to the head of the company, Google increases salaries based on the productivity of employees who also receive bonuses and benefits.
