Promsvyazbank warned that bank customers will not be able to use Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay due to sanctions

Promsvyazbank warned that the bank's customers will not be able to use Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay contactless payment systems when paying with Visa and Mastercard cards both in Russia and abroad due to US sanctions imposed on the financial organization on February 22.

The bank advises using PSB plastic cards for payments inside Russia instead of these foreign payment services.

PSB also offers customers an alternative method of contactless payment with Mir cards based on the Mir Pay application, which is available on Google Play and the Huawei app store.

According to the decree of the US Treasury, PSB will no longer be able to do business in the US and will be cut off from their financial system. All bank assets under US jurisdiction will be immediately frozen, and US individuals and entities will be prohibited from doing business with this entity. Promsvyazbank assured that the sanctions would not have a significant impact on its activities in Russia. They clarified that the bank's customers will no longer be able to use its bank cards in the territory of the states that have announced sanctions, including the United States, Canada, Japan and Australia.

On February 24, Sberbank announced that it had worked out various scenarios for protecting client funds in the event that sanctions were imposed against it.
