Pirate game hacking group CODEX ceased operations

On February 23, 2022, representatives of the hacker gaming community CODEX announced the termination of their activities. There will be no more cracks and hacks of new games and DLC from them. The reason is the loss of interest in this area of hacking and the lack of competitors.

CODEX recalled that from 2014 to 2022, about 7,300 game releases under their own name and about 5,300 releases under the PLAZA name were hacked. CODEX said that they have been breaking protections against Steam (Stub+bbabo.netI+CEG), Arxan, XboxLive, UWP, Denuvo, Origin, Epic, Uplay, Bethesda.net, Battle.net and many other custom game protection systems for many years.

At first, they had a serious opponent in the form of competitors from the RELOADED group, but now there are no worthy rivals left. Also CODEX members got tired of just cracking DRM protection and decoupling from Steam.

CODEX summed up that they achieved their goal in hacking games and gained a lot of experience on it. Now they will be engaged in other interesting projects for them.
