Facebook offered Ukrainians additional profile protection

Facebook has offered Ukrainian users additional profile protection - now Ukrainians can hide their account from outsiders, leaving it available only to friends, Nathaniel Gleicher, head of the social network's cybersecurity policy department, said on his Twitter.

“We launched a new feature in Ukraine that allows users to close their accounts and provides an additional layer of security and respect for privacy,” Gleicher said.

According to Gleicher, a private profile will allow his user to isolate himself from other users - his photos, stories and publications will be available only to the user's friends.

Such measures were introduced during the escalation of the conflict in Afghanistan, which ended with the fall of the regime, the evacuation of the forces of the international coalition led by the United States and the coming to power of the Taliban (the organization is banned in Russia).

Earlier, Roskomnadzor accused Facebook of censoring Russian media.
