Presented hybrid crossover Alfa Romeo Tonale with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds

Alfa Romeo has unveiled a new Tonale crossover based on the Jeep Compass platform. Sales of Alfa Romeo Tonale will start in Europe this summer, while the price has not yet been announced.

Overall dimensions of Alfa Romeo Tonale are 4530 x 1840 x 1600 mm with a wheelbase of 2636 mm. Tonale got McPherson struts. Tonale is the first plug-in hybrid in Alfa Romeo history. The PHEV setup includes a 1.3-liter MultiAir engine paired with a 6-band “automatic”, a 122 hp rear electric motor. and a 15.5 kWh battery. The total power is 275 hp. The hybrid accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds, while a full charge at 7.4 kW is 2.5 hours. On pure electricity, it can travel up to 80 km.

There is also a version with a 1.5-liter engine with 130 hp. and a 48-volt electric motor (20 hp). A more powerful version of the unit develops 160 hp, and the internal combustion engine in it is equipped with a variable geometry turbocharger. In Europe, a version with a 1.6-liter diesel engine with 130 hp will be available, and in the US, the crossover will receive a 260-horsepower 2.0 petrol turbo engine, which is combined with a 9-band “automatic” and a Q4 all-wheel drive transmission. Hybrid and diesel cars are exclusively front-wheel drive.

In the interior of the novelty, a 12.3-inch dashboard and a 10.25-inch touch screen multimedia system are installed. The entertainment system is equipped with a voice assistant, supports over-the-air updates and wireless interfaces Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Tonale's options list is full of safety features, including adaptive cruise control with lane keeping, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection and blind spot monitoring.
