Instagram made it possible to upload videos up to 60 seconds to Stories

Instagram began testing Stories with increased duration. If earlier the maximum length of the "Story" was 15 seconds, now for users from some regions this time has been increased to 60 seconds. Analysts believe this is the next step in attracting users from TikTok.

Social media specialist Matt Navarra noticed that a new format of "Stories" has become available to users from Turkey, with the duration increased to 60 seconds. The innovation allows you to immediately download a minute history and the system will not divide it into several 15-second ones. Navarra announced this on his Twitter account.

It was also previously noted that Instagram is working on a new interface for publishing Stories, which will simplify the process of mentioning other users and adding geotags. At the moment, there is no information on when the social network will release the new editing mode. It is worth noting that long "Stories" are not yet available to everyone.

Analysts noted that the popularity of TikTok is pushing Instagram to focus on being able to publish more videos on the platform. It is important to note that at the end of summer 2020, Instagram added Reels posts, which allow you to post short videos of 15, 30 or 60 seconds long. You can add music, effects, stickers and text to these videos.
