Roscosmos spoke about the future of the ISS

Director General of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin said that the International Space Station will continue to operate no longer than until 2028. This was reported in the Russian Space magazine.

“I think the ISS will be able to operate in orbit until 2028, no longer. However, I repeat, we will make a decision on the terms of operation of the Russian segment based primarily on technical limitations, ”Rogozin specified in an interview with the publication.

As the general director of the national agency explained, for some time the ISS and the promising Russian orbital service station will be used in parallel.

“Due to financial constraints, we cannot simultaneously pull the ISS project and the construction of a new station,” Rogozin stressed.

Earlier, NASA explained whether the new sanctions against Russia will affect the ISS.

Rogozin also suggested that Europe launch astronauts to the ISS on its own.
