Access to Oracle Cloud from Russia will be closed from March 12, Free Tier servers are already partially blocked

On March 7, 2022, Oracle Cloud sent a notification to customers in the Russian Federation about the suspension of service from March 12. Users of the Oracle Cloud Free Tier program also encountered problems accessing both the management console and previously raised virtual machines in the perpetual cloud service.

Previously, Oracle gave away free single-core servers in Oracle Cloud Free Tier with no time limit. They had a very weak configuration: two virtual machines with two AMD EPYC cores (1 OCPU) and 1 GB of memory.

In December 2021, more powerful instances were opened for free on four cores of the 80-core Ampere Altra 80C 3.0 GHz processor with 24 GB of memory.
