The new Apple monitor will come with a meter cable

Apple today introduced the Studio Display, a cheaper 27-inch alternative to the Pro Display XDR. The standalone monitor comes with a one meter Thunderbolt cable. Apple also offers a 1.8 meter Thunderbolt 4 Pro cable for $129.

Soon the company promises to release a three-meter cable for $159.

Apple says the Thunderbolt 4 Pro cable supports Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, and USB 4 data transfers up to 40Gbps, USB 3.1 Gen 2 data transfers up to 10Gbps, and up to 100W pass-through charging for a connected MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

Key features of the Studio Display include a slim all-aluminum chassis, 5K resolution, up to 600 nits of brightness, support for the P3 wide color gamut and over one billion colors, a built-in kickstand that allows the user to tilt the display up to 30 degrees, a six-speaker sound system, A13 Bionic chip , providing Hey Siri, Center Stage, and more.

The Studio Display also features three USB-C ports, a Thunderbolt 3 port, and a studio-quality three-mic array.

Customers can order Studio Display from Apple's online store starting today. In the US, the monitor costs $1,599 with the tilt-adjustable stand and $1,999 with the tilt and height-adjustable stand. The monitor can also be equipped with nanotexture glass and/or a VESA mount adapter.

On March 8, Apple held a new product launch and introduced a number of devices, including the iPhone SE with 5G, the new version of the iPad Air, Mac Studio, and the M1 Ultra chip.
