8BitDo announces its first Xbox controller

8BitDo has introduced the Ultimate Wired Controller gamepad, made in the style of Xbox controllers. The device can be used with Xbox, Windows, Android and iOS.

The gamepad has traditional Xbox buttons and bumpers. It features a headphone jack, vibration, just like the original Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S controllers. The Ultimate Wired Controller comes in black and white.

The controller is connected via cable. You can switch between gamepad game settings using 8BitDo Ultimate Software. There are also two additional assignable buttons on the controller. You can adjust the range and sensitivity of device triggers.

Deliveries of gaming devices will begin no earlier than May 31, but in the near future it will be possible to pre-order them. Amazon is asking $45 for the controller.

In April last year, 8BitDo introduced an updated version of the SN30Pro Plus controller, which is called 8BitDo Pro 2. The gamepad connects to gaming platforms using Bluetooth. The appearance of the device resembles a cross between the Super Nintendo Entertainment System controllers and the first Sony Playstation.

Last December, Scuf Gaming announced the first third-party PlayStation 5 gamepads: Reflex, Reflex Pro, and Reflex FPS. The base version of the controller will set you back $199, while the company's flagship controller will cost $259. The devices are equipped with built-in memory, which allows you to save multiple profiles and settings for different games.

A month earlier, Video Games Chronicles reported that it had found a patent for a gamepad for mobile devices from Sony. The controller has a superficial resemblance to the DualShock 4. However, Sony gamepads are already compatible with smartphones thanks to Bluetooth.
