Google Drive will restrict access to user files that violate company policy

A notification from Google that the content in a user's file violates the cloud's terms of service.

Google announced that the cloud service "Google Drive" from the end of December will restrict access to user files, the content of which violates company policy.

Google clarified that if it finds that a user's file on Google Drive violates the Google Terms of Service or Program Policies, its use may be restricted by a checkbox next to the file name. the file itself will no longer be publicly available, even to users who have a link to it.

Google clarified that this is done to protect users. The company will restrict access to files classified as malicious by various analyzers. In addition, the restrictions will include text files containing hate speech and insults (harassment, bullying and threats, discriminatory statements), as well as graphic and video files with explicit content, including sexual content and photographs of minors. For the last point, Google only permits the use of nude images created for educational, documentary, scientific or artistic purposes.

If a violation is found in the file, its owner will receive an e-mail notifying of the actions taken by the Google Drive service and an explanation of how to request a revision of the restriction - to appeal the incident if the user considers it to be an error.

In July this year, Google introduced a new version of the Google Drive client to replace the Startup and Sync application.
