Samsung Pay announced the resumption of work within the Russian Federation using Mir cards

The Samsung Pay payment system announced the resumption of work within the Russian Federation using Mir bank cards.

Samsung Pay clarified that due to international payment system restrictions on Russian banks, some transactions may not be available at this time:

payments and money transfers using Samsung Pay with Mastercard and Visa cards of Russian banks;

release of new tickets for the Virtual Troika transport card in the Moscow Metro application. Virtual Troika tickets, previously issued and already added to Samsung Pay, will continue to work in the capital's transport.

The payment system said that now payments with Mir cards of Russian banks from this list work in Samsung Pay without restrictions.

Since March 10, Visa and Mastercard payment systems have stopped working in the Russian Federation. Their cards, issued by Russian banks, work within the country, but have become unavailable abroad. Also within the country, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay services stopped working for those users who linked Visa and Mastercard cards to them. Google Pay does not support Mir cards, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay partially support cards from banks that are not under sanctions.
