Health by subscription and robots on the streets: what technologies will bring in 2022

More drones on the road, home devices that read brain activity, and artificial intelligence, whose capabilities will be open to everyone - this is an incomplete list of innovations that may become available to the general public in the near future. interviewed IT experts and found out what to expect from 2022 in the field of high technologies.

"Brain-computer" in every home

Director of neurotech-company Neiry, developer of neurotechnological platform Tatyana Aleksandrova is confident that next year the first user devices supporting the brain-computer interface will be released. Such devices will be used in various fields: entertainment, medicine, education.

“First of all, such devices will appear in the gaming industry. This will allow analyzing the cognitive load of the player, his level of concentration, relaxation, anger, ”Aleksandrova explained in an interview with.

Previously, Valve CEO Gabe Newell talked about plans to create a console with a similar interface. According to him, the company has already started developing it.

The device will read the player's brain activity in order to further customize the game for him or change his state. He also noted that the device could be used in everyday life, for example, to "tune" sleep.

In addition, Alexandrova noted that the idea of creating a metaverse will be actively developed in 2022.

“Most likely, a number of interesting virtual reality projects will appear. However, in my opinion, it is still far from a full-fledged metaverse. Neurotechnologies will be an integral part of the future metaverse, since it will allow much more efficient interaction with the entire digital space, ”the expert explained.

Earlier, the head of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, announced the active development of a VR headset for the metaverse. According to him, the gadget will support typing using a virtual keyboard. For this, a bracelet will be attached to the set of glasses, which will read the movements of the hands.

However, despite active efforts to develop the foundation for the metaverse, experts believe that its first prototype can only appear no earlier than in 10-15 years.

Robots on the streets

According to Oleg Kivokurtsev, General Director of Promobot, unmanned vehicles will appear in large numbers on the streets of cities next year.

“Today such experience exists in Russia in some cities, there is in the United States, there is in China, more territories will be used by drones,” the expert said.

In addition, speech recognition systems as well as interactive voice assistants will be improved. This will increase the proliferation of smart speakers and voice interfaces across devices.

“There will also be startups in the field of creating anthropomorphic or humanoid robots. Elon Musk announced that by 2022 he will release an upright robot capable of carrying a load of 15 kg. This attracted engineers, and we will definitely see new startups in this area, ”the expert said.

Virtual hospital

The founder of the health management service Checkme, Anastasia Fayzulenova, is confident that in the coming years personal gadgets with sensors that can be used for health diagnostics will be in great demand.

“Monitoring glucose levels, heart rate and even mood - all of this is already available in gadgets and provides doctors with access to information about human health in real time. These data, together with data on the patient's lifestyle, will allow us to act more accurately, drawing up check-ups individually for each patient, ”believes Faizulenova.

According to her, digitalization in the healthcare sector leads to the fact that medical services are becoming more habitual and convenient to receive through services.

“Many are already delegating health management to services; in addition, there is a prospect for the subscription model, which allows you to receive medical services (consultations from doctors, drawing up a health management plan, etc.) on a regular basis and form a habit, ”the expert said.

According to the founder of health tech company AIBY Oli Osokina, with the development of the metaverse, hospitals may begin to appear in virtual reality.

“People buy land and buildings in virtual reality, companies invest their assets in cryptocurrency, the United States is preparing laws for taxing new currencies - all this confirms that parallel virtual reality will also need to be treated in VR,” Osokina explained.

AI for all

According to Tatiana Danielyan, Deputy Director for Research and Development at ABBYY, in 2022 artificial intelligence technologies will be democratized.“This became clear when the largest software research center, the Carnegie Mellon Institute of Software Engineering published new requirements for developers of machine learning technologies. In short, now any AI should be scalable, safe and understandable for humans, ”explained Danielian.

AI will now be human-centered. All solutions and hypotheses of artificial intelligence will be available not only for engineers and programmers, but also for other specialists, for example, a marketer or an accountant.

“These solutions are called low-code / no-code and we believe that they are the future of AI. With the help of low-code platforms, you can quickly and without additional technical knowledge create websites, customize the processing of data from documents, recognize objects in a video stream, analyze processes and solve many other useful business tasks, ”Danielyan said.
