Anonymous hackers announced the hacking of dozens of surveillance cameras in Russia

Hackers believed to be from the Anonymous group have reported hacking into dozens of CCTV cameras in Russia. According to the hackers, they launched messages of a political nature over the video stream of these cameras.

Anonymous also created the Behind Enemy Lines website, where you could watch a "live" video broadcast from these cameras. According to Motherboard, the site streamed video from 86 unique security cameras. Now this resource is not available for Russian users, but it is opened through Tor.

The hackers divided the videos into several categories: "indoors", "outdoors", "restaurants", "offices", "homes", "businesses" and "schools". Motherboard looked at the broadcasts from several different cameras and came to the conclusion that at least some of them are in Russia.

However, after some time, the hackers removed the video from the “houses” section, explaining this with respect for the privacy of the civilian population. “We hope you understand,” the message read in the “home” section of the site.

At the same time, Anonymous did not respond to a request from journalists. It is not yet clear how the cameras were accessed.

Earlier it was reported that about 87% of all cyber attacks recorded by the Chinese authorities from foreign hackers are directed to Russian sites. The number of cyberattacks on Russian websites has increased due to the situation in Ukraine.
