Mosmetro and SME signed a five-year contract for the supply of all-Russian Troikas

Mosmetro and MSP LLC entered into a five-year contract for the supply of Troika transport cards equipped with a domestic chip instead of chips from the Dutch company NXP. Immediately after the end of the final stage of testing, the first batch of completely Russian transport cards should appear at the metro ticket offices.

“SME and Moscow metro signed a new contract for the supply of Troika cards with domestic chips. They will be available for sale immediately after completion of testing on the infrastructure of transport carriers. The new cards fully support the current functionality, and passengers will not feel the difference. All work on the supply of cards with Russian chips is being carried out as planned, - the press service of SMEs.

As the press service of Mosmetro pointed out, a large state order will allow SMEs to supply the Moscow metro with plastic cards without interruption, save jobs, increase production capacity and continue working on more modern developments. Mosmetro assures that the replacement of the chip will not affect the operation of Troika. The development of other payment methods, including Face Pay, will continue.

On March 23, Mosmetro reported that a completely Russian chip for the Troika card was undergoing final testing. Its development began in 2018, when the strategic alliance of the State Unitary Enterprise Moscow Metro and PJSC Mikron created a joint venture based on Mikron Security Printing LLC. Deptrans also assured that there would be no shortage of Troikas. The department has a sufficient number of cards.
