Chinese Moore Threads introduced gaming graphics cards

Chinese startup Moore Threads presented the MTT S60 graphics card for desktop PCs, as well as the MTT S2000 server accelerator. You can run games on MTT S60.

During the presentation, Moore Threads demonstrated the launch of League of Legends on its video card in 1080p resolution. Multiple GPU processing technologies have been demonstrated in 3D rendering software, image recognition, metaverse avatar animation, scientific simulation software, and more.

These are the first native Chinese gaming GPUs with DirectX and Vulkan support. Video processing takes place with the help of the so-called intelligent multimedia engine. It is claimed to be capable of supporting 8K codec and compatible with AV1 codec for cloud conferencing, live streaming and more. They also support OpenCL and OpenGL, H.264, H.265 hardware encoding and H.264, H.265, VP8, VP9 decoding. The Alphacore physics engine works with tools such as Unity, Houdini and Unreal to accelerate the realistic movement of complex structures and materials.

The GPUs will work with x86 and Arm based systems as well as all Chinese major operating systems.

MTT S60 occupies one standard PCI-E slot and has 2048 cores, as well as an active cooling system. However, peak performance is slightly lower than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070.

The MTT S2000 accelerator is based on a 12nm GPU with the same architecture as the MTT S60, but has 4096 cores and 12 Tflops performance, which is slightly less than the GeForce RTX 3060. The chip has 32 GB of memory.

Yesterday, Intel introduced the first Arc series graphics cards for laptops: the six-core A350M and the eight-core A370M. For the gaming power of laptops, Intel has developed separate series of video cards: Arc 5 and Arc 7, which will be released in the summer. The latter will have two options - 24 cores and 32 cores.
