Yesterday, at 20:00 Moscow time, a large number of notifications from github were sent to users from Russia. The notification was sent automatically, the mailing consisted of about 180 notifications, with the mention of users from Russia, an issue was created where they simply tagged everyone. The issue is currently closed, but it's easy to track down who the author of itsprivate is.

The commit contains a link to an article with the title "A GitHub issue where every Russian user was just mentioned". The information has already been deleted on the site itself, but there is a mirror in the comments. In short, the author calls to install vpn, Tor, join the "matrix resistance".

On the main site, opinions about this approach were divided, many, like me, did not like such a mailing, some users answered letters using obscene expressions (you can understand).

The github administration has not yet commented on the incident.
