Apple's mixed reality headset, according to many early reports, should have been released this year. But this probably won't happen.

Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities says the product could be delayed until 2023. According to his forecast, the device will be released in the first quarter of next year, that is, the delay will be small.

At the same time, the analyst believes that in the first year of sales, Apple sells only 1-1.5 million headsets. In absolute terms, this seems to be a very small indicator, but we do not yet know the prices or capabilities of the device.

Pu believes that one of the main features of Apple's headset will be its own platform, which will allow for unique functions. The device should receive more than a dozen different sensors.

It is worth noting that the Cupertians may well announce the headset this year at the autumn event, it will just go on sale next year.
