Tesla Model Y crashed into the best-selling private jet in the world: it hit the video

The following video, originally posted on Reddit, shows a Tesla Model Y slowly driving into the back of a parked plane.

How the car ended up on the airfield is unknown, but the source writes that the Tesla Model Y was moving in Summon mode, when the owner can leave the car in the parking lot and then give the command to drive to the desired point.

Two people are visible in the frame, one of whom may be driving the vehicle remotely. Tesla even tries to continue moving after a collision with a plane. This suggests that Tesla's sensor suite is not designed to detect objects high above the ground, like the tail of this aircraft.

The incident took place at Felts Field near Spokane, Washington. Comments on Reddit suggest that aircraft manufacturer Cirrus was holding some sort of event at the time of the incident.

— Chris Clarke (@chrisclarkefly) April 22, 2022 A source says the Cirrus Vision Jet we see in the video costs about $2 million. MotorTrend reached out to Cirrus for more details on the video.

We can confirm that the aircraft in the video is a Cirrus Aircraft Vision Jet. It has been the world's best-selling private jet for three consecutive years. The award-winning Vision Jet is equipped with the Safe Return Autoland system, which allows it to land at the touch of a button, as well as the revolutionary Cirrus Airframe parachute system.
