Russian short-term electric scooter rental services to expand their fleets and start manufacturing components in Russia

The Russian electric scooter rental service Whoosh plans to increase its fleet from 76 to 100 thousand scooters in 2023, Yurent also intends to actively increase its fleet in the next two years, and is also considering the possibility of producing components for electric scooters in Russia. This was reported in the press services of kicksharing services.

“Since its launch in 2019, the company has increased its fleet to 76,000 electric scooters, and plans to operate a fleet of 100,000 in 2023,” the Whoosh press service said.

Yurent also emphasized that their fleet includes about 80,000 electric scooters. “We plan to actively increase the park in the next two years,” the Yurent press service emphasized. In addition, "Yurent" reported that the company has no difficulties with the purchase of equipment and spare parts.

“At the beginning of the season, we had to revise some logistics chains for the supply of scooters and spare parts, but now we are steadily importing everything in the planned volume,” said Yurent.

The service is also considering the possibility of producing components in Russia - trackers, IoT modules, batteries, and other parts. “In particular, MTS helps us with the development of IoT trackers. We produce some of the parts ourselves on our own 3D printing and casting line,” Yurent emphasized.

Earlier, the Whoosh service said that due to the situation in the world, it encountered problems when ordering processors from STM. Therefore, the company intends to switch to Chinese processors.
