Apple is preparing to introduce the Mac Pro based on the M2 Extreme processor

Bloomberg insider and editor Mark Gurman (Mark Gurman) reported that Apple is preparing an update to its most powerful Mac Pro computer. The specialist believes that for this, the Cupertino team will release a new processor.

At the moment, Apple has updated all the lines of its computers and laptops. Each manufactured device now runs on the company's own processors. The changes have not yet affected the Mac Pro, which is still going to be based on Intel processors.

An insider said that this year the company will change the situation and release the Mac Pro on its own processor. Now the most powerful solution of Cupertinians is presented in the form of a 20-core M1 Ultra processor with a 64-core GPU and a 32-core Neural Engine. According to Gurman, Apple will release the M2 Extreme specifically for the Mac Pro. The new processor should be twice as powerful as the M1 Ultra, and the company's line of computers will run entirely on its own systems on a chip.

The journalist also said that other Cupertino devices can get M2 chips, and the MacBook Air and Pro lines have already acquired M2-based gadgets.
