Sony unveils Backbone One gamepad certified for iOS and PlayStation

Sony has announced the Backbone One gamepad, made in the style of Dual Sense, and certified for use with iOS. Users will be able to play games via Remote Play using the presented controller.

The company blog noted that the gamepad is made in the style of the PlayStation 5 and is combined not only with the design of the console itself, but also with other devices and accessories. The controls completely copy the Sony gamepad, but the gadget has additional buttons to control the gamepad itself.

Backbone One can only be connected to smartphones from the iPhone line. The sliding design, according to the company, fits all iPhone 13 form factors. On the connected smartphone, you can run PlayStation games using the Remote Play function, which broadcasts the image from the console to the smartphone. The manufacturer also assures that the controller supports games from the App Store.

The device costs $99, which is more expensive than a regular Dual Sense connected to a smartphone. But the Backbone One option allows you to mount your smartphone on the gamepad itself, which can be more convenient than placing it on a stand.
