The producer of video surveillance systems Axis leaves Russia

The Swedish manufacturer of network cameras and video surveillance systems Axis Communications leaves the Russian market and dismisses all employees of the division with the payment of a severance package. The company plans to ban the sale of products in the Russian Federation, as well as prevent the import of its products through parallel imports.

Axis has stopped accepting orders and new projects since February this year. The company's management said it offered employees a competitive severance package that would support workers as they transition to a new job.

In addition, Axis is negotiating with employees who are ready to move. At the moment, several employees of the Russian division of the company are in the process of relocation to other countries. 25 people worked in the representative office of Axis in the Russian Federation.

The company intends to ban the sale of its products in Russia and through parallel imports. Axis said it is in dialogue with distributors to ensure compliance with these terms.

Axis manufactured products for sale in Russia at the American plant Jabil, which is located in Tver. In May 2022, the enterprise was closed, and at the end of the month, CNews reported that it had been acquired by the server and data storage manufacturer Aquarius.

The Swedish company was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Lund. The manufacturer provides network cameras and intercom video devices in 50 countries around the world. Axis notes that they released the first network video surveillance camera in 1996. The company's staff in 50 countries of the world exceeds 4 thousand employees. Axis' total sales reached €1.2 billion.

The revenue of Axis Communications in Russia in 2021 amounted to ₽1.3 billion, the net revenue of the manufacturer reached ₽9.9 million.
