Russian Post user data leaked to the network

Last night, Telegram channels reported that a part of the Russian Post's dispatch database had been made available to the public. The posted sample has exactly 10 million rows. The data contains the tracking number (track number of the shipment), full name (or company name) of the sender and recipient, phone number of the recipient, city and postal code of the sender and recipient, weight of the shipment, date and time of departure.

Russian Post has already confirmed the leak, but noted that it happened on the side of the contractor. “Information appeared on the network about a large-scale data leak of Mail users. What is real? One of our contractor's accounts was compromised in a hacker attack, a piece of data actually fell into the hands of hackers. Exactly this piece of data is now given out as a "trial". The leak did not contain banking data, nothing threatens the security and reputation of customers,” the company commented.

The company also noted that hackers do not have access to other records. “The security service blocked access through a compromised account and double-checked the security level on all possible access points,” the company added.

Roskomnadzor sent a corresponding request to the Russian Post. “Roskomnadzor sent a request to Russian Post with a request to provide detailed information about a possible leak of personal data of the company's customers,” the agency said.
