Intel will no longer sell Core i9-12900K in fancy packaging

Intel has decided to stop shipping the Core i9-12900K and Core i9-10980XE processors in special packaging with an unusual design.

Now such CPUs will be delivered in regular boxes, like other solutions of the corresponding lines. At one time, Intel did the same with the Core i9-10900K - the box was changed to a regular one some time after the launch.

This is done for economic reasons. Such packages are, firstly, more expensive to produce, and secondly, more expensive to transport due to non-standard shape and size. And the main purpose of such packages is to attract attention, first of all, at the start of sales of new products.

Whether the older model in the Raptor Lake line will come in unusual packaging is still unknown.
