Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the region Lyubov Ivanova said that AvtoVAZ found itself in a very difficult situation, but despite this, the work of the enterprise is being restored.
Chairman of the Government of the Samara Region Viktor Kudryashov provided updated information:
The main factor that will contribute to the growth of industrial production is the restoration of production at the Volga Automobile Plant. Today, production in the auto industry in the first half of the year was only 40% of the level of last year, but AvtoVAZ plans to produce almost 140,000 cars in the second half of the year, which is twice as much as from January to June.
He also noted that employees are returning to their jobs, production is being restored.
In general, we can say that the main stage of the crisis is over. From the end of August, extended shifts will be organized at the car plant, which will last for ten hours, and from September the enterprise on three lines will switch to a six-day work week. This is a very good loading level.

He added that next year they plan to start producing Lada Vesta at the Togliatti site. This will allow next year to reach a production volume of up to 400,000 cars a year.
This is practically one of the best indicators in recent years. Here we expect significant changes that will mean a full recovery of the region's economy.
