App developer MemTest86 has taken DDR5 memory diagnostics to the next level in a yet-to-be-released version of PassMark's iconic test software tool.

The author of MemTest86 revealed that after the update, the program will show key information about the installed DDR5 memory modules, including their serial number, part number, manufacturer's name and volume. Also, the tool will be able to visually show information about which particular memory chip on the memory module is not working properly due to errors.

Experts suggest that initially this feature will only work on some systems with DDR5 memory. In the picture with the announcement, the developer presented a variant of the failure of one Crucial DDR5-4800 memory bank.

The developers at PassMark added support for DDR5 memory to the MemTest86 v9.1 Pro version a year ago.
