Media: Russia bought a thousand strike drones and a training simulator from Iran

Lebanese journalist and political analyst Elijah Magier reported that Russia had signed a contract for the supply of 1,000 Iranian Shahed 129 reconnaissance and strike drones. The agreement was signed after Russian specialists were trained in the use of these machines.

In addition, Tehran has already transferred to Russia several ready-made drones and a simulator that will allow training operators. Drones themselves can act as fire spotters, as well as independently strike. Such UAVs can stay in the air for about a day.

The data of the journalist is confirmed by Reuters, citing sources in the official US authorities. According to media reports, the Russian delegation visited one of the airfields in Iran several times to study the UAV. The source also confirmed the fact of training. The US has already responded to this information.

“We remain very concerned about the use and proliferation of UAVs by Iran. They have been used to attack US forces, our partners in the region, and international organizations,” said Vedant Patel, Deputy State Department spokesman.

Earlier it was reported that a rocket was successfully launched from Baikonur with the Iranian Khayyam satellite, which is designed to capture and monitor the Earth. A little later, Rostec told what technologies were used in the design of the satellite.
