TrueConf made the TrueConf MCU video conferencing server for 100 subscribers free for corporate users

On August 17, 2022, the TrueConferencing system developer made the TrueConf MCU video conferencing server for 100 subscribers free of charge for corporate users in order to support Russian companies under sanctions and refuse foreign products.

The developer has not announced any time limits for using this product.

Previously, the company provided a free TrueConf Server Free video server for 10 subscribers.

According to TrueConf, the free TrueConf MCU solution will allow you to connect up to 100 hardware videoconferencing terminals (SIP/H.323) and hold up to 4 simultaneous video conferences without any time limits for conferences.

The developer specified that the TrueConf MCU videoconferencing server distribution kit is available for download under Linux. The TrueConf MCU solution is included in the Unified Register of Domestic Software. The system works with OS Astra Linux, Viola and Debian, Intel and AMD processors. This development is supported by the Elbrus platform without recoding.

Disadvantages of a free license for TrueConf MCU: the need to connect to the Internet for the server to work, as well as paid full technical support for 99 thousand rubles.

Industry experts were skeptical about this TrueConf initiative. Russian competitors consider this a publicity stunt, as the developer can terminate the free license at any time.

Other domestic video conferencing manufacturers also have free solutions for corporate users with their own limitations. For example, VideoMost Server for 100 users is only available for 3 months. The free version of the IVA MCU video conferencing platform has a limit of 50 subscribers and also 3 months of operation.
