One of the cheapest hybrids on the market: 1,000 km range, 5.1 liters per 100 km consumption and $13,300 over-the-air upgrades

One of the world's cheapest hybrid crossovers, called the Wuling Xingchen HEV, has already started arriving at Chinese dealers, with prices known to start at $13,300.

The Xingchen HEV is powered by a 2.0 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with 135 hp. with a torque of 320 Nm. The engine is paired with a single-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) and a lithium-ion battery. It accelerates to 100 km / h in 7.8 seconds, has a fuel consumption of 5.1 liters per 100 km and a range of 1000 km.

Wuling Xincheng is manufactured by SAIC-GM-Wuling, a joint venture between SAIC Motor, General Motors and Liuzhou Wuling Motors. The joint venture was established in 2002 and began its activities with the sale of minivans and minibuses under the Wuling brand.

Wuling Xingchen dimensions are 4594 x 1820 x 1750 mm with a wheelbase of 2750 mm. Inside, there is an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch center screen. The infotainment system runs on Wuling Ling OS, which also offers over-the-air updates.

Other features include automatic cruise control, heated seats and a sunroof.
