The likely name of a major Windows 11 update has become known

A major Windows 11 update is almost ready and should be out in the foreseeable future. However, Microsoft keeps the intrigue to the last and does not announce the release date. But the other day, a fresh leak appeared, which reveals the cards a little.

It was previously reported that the update would be called 22H2 or Sun Valley 2. However, now network sources have announced a new name - Windows 11 2022 Update. Thus, the release date in the current year is confirmed, and a new naming scheme for updates is also introduced. This is indicated by the appeared screenshot of the advertising message. It has text on it: “You are now using the Windows 11 2022 update! Read on to find out about the new features and customize everything the way you like it."

The screenshot itself is currently gone, copies of it are already on the network. It should also be noted that the name of Windows 11 2022 Update has not yet been officially confirmed, so this may be just one of the names of the future update.

Microsoft has confirmed that build 22621 is the final version of Windows 11 22H2, and leaks suggest that the update could be released as early as September 20 this year. And in October and November, the rollout will be accelerated to reach a larger audience.

In terms of new features, Windows 11 22H2 should return the ability to “drag and drop” files and shortcuts to the taskbar. Also expected is a new Task Manager, an improved Start, faster context menus, Windows Spotlight for the desktop, and support for File Explorer tabs.

And earlier, a former Microsoft employee told how they created the logon sound for Windows 8.
