The new PlayStation VR 2 virtual reality helmet will be available for testing in September

Capcom has announced that attendees will be able to experience a VR version of Resident Evil: Village at the Tokyo Game Show 2022. It is noteworthy that this version of the game is being created under the PlayStation VR 2 virtual reality helmet, so it will be possible to evaluate it as well.

Tokyo Game Show 2022 will be held from September 15 to 18, and the helmet itself will hit the market in early 2023. The novelty is credited with a number of technological features that should improve user interaction with VR.

Among these we note:

built-in camera that allows you to see the environment without removing the helmet. This mode will be optional;

room scanning technology that will warn if the player has approached the edge of the playing area;

VR and cinematic modes - the first is suitable for playing, the second is for watching videos.

PS VR 2 will get two displays with a resolution of 2000 x 2400 pixels per eye, the refresh rate will be 90/120 Hz. Thus, in VR mode, there will be 4K resolution. In cinematic, the resolution will be limited to 1080p, but the refresh rate will be from 24 to 120 Hz.

The estimated price is likely to be up to 400 euros, but in light of the latest news, it could be higher.
