Russia - Rostec is actively working on import substitution of the Ka-62 helicopter

Serial production of the fully imported Russian Ka-62 helicopter is planned to be launched from 2025 at the Far East enterprise of Russian Helicopters. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Industry and Trade following the working visit of the Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov to the site of the Arseniev Aviation Company Progress named after. N.I. Sazykina (part of the Russian Helicopters holding company of the Rostec state corporation).

“Today, the holding is working on the creation of an import-substituted appearance of the Ka-62. Serial production of the new version of the machine is planned to begin at the Far East enterprise of Russian Helicopters from 2025. As part of import substitution, work will be carried out to replace systems and assemblies with domestic counterparts. The replacement will be carried out taking into account the preservation of the achieved competitive flight performance of the helicopter,” said Denis Paltsev, General Director of AAK Progress.

According to Manturov, the Progress enterprise is provided with orders for the next three years, and plans to increase production capacity.

Ka-62 is a multi-purpose civilian helicopter for cargo and passenger transportation, rescue, medical and patrol operations. It can perform work in a wide range of temperatures, has the possibility of autonomous basing. In May, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that by 2030 it was planned to sell 365 of the latest Russian Ka-62 helicopters. In addition, this model can be the most competitive among machines with a maximum takeoff weight of six to seven tons.
